I have returned from the ISYM (Illinois summer youth music) band camp. It was very fun, I met some new people and had a great time. It was a busy week. I enjoyed it, but I could have done without the bothersome people. I made 2nd chair tenor sax! D.J came to pic me up... and he didn't even watch the concert. It was a very important moment for me. Oh well, he's moving out soon. I realized how diffrent I am now. I stayed up texting at night. I also was a total air head alot of the time.

A little brush up on what's going on with life. I'm getting a job at a thrift store soon. D.J's leaving for college. Mom needs surgery. To top it all of, there is a group of pea-brained crack monkeys (also known as senators) who are cutting funds of things to get us out of debt. Instead of closing bars, or getting rid of some of their money (gosh forbid they can't afford their 24th car, while we scavenge the streets for food) they have decided to cut the funding of: special ed programs, diabetes research, some healthcare companies, orphanages, about 1/2 our police forces, special schools, student loads, special services, ect. If this bill gets passed, Mom will be out of a job yet again. Don't you just love politics? I hate them...

Yesterday I got a trombone! Basically for free! It's dented in a few spots, one of the bindings broke, the mouth piece is stuck, a part of the tuning slide comes off, the slide needs more oil, and it's in desperate need of polish... but it's playable and fixable.

Anyway, I'm going to University of Illinois tomorrow for a week of band camp. what's even better: I get to play the tenor sax! Apparently they have to many altos and not enough of the others, so they asked me to play tenor or beri. Luckily, Dallas lives right down the street and plays tenor. She doesn't play it, so her mom's glad that I am because she "spent all that money on it, SOMEONE'S gonna play it." My 3 electives are Composing, Conducting, and West African Drumming (Kove thinks it'll be funny if I'm the only white person in the class).
